Uliana Mozgaleva

Uliana MozgalevaI was born 15 March 1970 in a small town called Yasnogorsk, not far from Moscow. I loved drawing from very small age. My father noticed it and encouraged me to continue my art education. When I was eleven he asked his friend, who was a fine artist, to give me private art lessons. I fell in love with watercolours and learned a lot before moving to St. Petersburg for further art studies. In 1989 I have graduated from one of St. Petersburg's art colleges as an artist-restorer specialised in paint effects. I worked in most beautiful historical buildings of St. Petersburg and its district. I was in a team restoring historical murals.

In 1996 I have moved to Africa. I live in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. At the present moment I am an artist and an art educator. I am holding a Bachelor of Technical Teacher Education in Art and Design (Honors) degree. I enjoy teaching and through demonstration to students learned lots of new techniques.

I have started drawing portraits with coloured pencils and discovered that I love drawing people. In the portraits I emphasise on light and colour which help to portray the character of the person.

I had few exhibitions:
